Something rather funny happened at school today. I work in an Japanese elementary school, and I do a lot of silly things in class. Actually, kids in Japan are prone to laugh at anything, so even the simplest things set them off. So this incident wasn't all that original, and it loses something in the translation, but here's what happened:

I know the atmosphere of this class well. The reason I have to specify that is that this class seems rather unusual. While I get the impression the kids in the class like me and my classes, they sort of put me down, in a teasing sort of way. I am originally from Boston, and I told them that on the first day of class. While all my other classes have said good things about Boston to me, this class always says "Boston boo!!" I think one of the reason for this is that the teacher along with several of the students are big fans of the Tokyo Giants baseball team. While I am no sort of baseball fan, I live in Osaka and as sort of a joke when given the chance I say Osaka's baseball team (actually the Hanshin Tigers) is great and the Giants are bad. I think saying this has cause the kids to sort of attempt to get revenge.
